Wonderland Experience
Christmas Tree Wonderland is set to return Christmas 2021!
Take a look at the Bournemouth Christmas Tree Wonderland Trail from 2019
Begin your dazzling Christmas adventure at Bournemouth Seafront with a ride on the Big Wheel. A spectacular illuminated beacon from which you can spot all the delights awaiting you along the festive trail and get a bird’s eye view of Christmas in Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf. Why not pop in for a festive game of mini golf?
Next to the Big Wheel, the Moscow Tree towers over the Seafront, conjuring up visions of icy forests and twinkling starlit skies. As you make your way towards Bournemouth’s beautiful Victorian Lower Gardens you will find yourself stepping into a fairy tale world with the enchanting Tree of Light and the spectacular shimmering pink glow of the Warsaw Tree up ahead.
Along the trail look out for the teddy bears and the fabulous splendour of the Seattle Tree, with its magnificent baubles of light stacked high into the night’s sky.
Making your way past the Pavilion Theatre the Grade II listed Rockery has been transformed with stunning streams of light which appear to be cascading like a wonderful ‘waterfall’. Keeping right Polar Walk is home to cuddly polar bears, icicle shards and enchanting, sparkling illuminations.
Along the main path to the left, is the glittering, iconic Pay by Phone Bethlehem Tree, complete with its very own Nativity scene, shimmering with a blue glacial glow the impressive South Western Railway St Petersburg tree and the amazing Vodafone Gigafast Tree of Light, new for 2019 and standing an impressive 10m high.
At the heart of the trail is the awesome Bournemouth Wonderland Tree. Towering over the gardens at an impressive 60ft, the tree is decorated with 30,000 individually programmable LED lights. Spectacular at any time, make sure you see the music and light shows – you won’t be able to resist getting into the Christmas spirit!
To continue the trail…
There is still plenty to explore around Christmas Tree Wonderland including the ice rink and Moguls Bar, the Alpine Christmas Market stalls in the Square and the Alpine Lodge Bar where you can enjoy a delicious treat or festive tipple.
Afterwards wander up to The Triangle to take a selfie in the Giant Bauble, or stroll up Old Christchurch Road, past festive shops and on to Beale Place where you’ll find another new addition to the Christmas Tree Wonderland – a 7m Giant Reindeer. Continuing up Old Christchurch Road you will see impressive drop lighting in Horseshoe Common and wave at the Gingerbread people who have made their home on the Lansdowne roundabout.
If all that walking has exhausted you then make sure you drop into one of the multitude of cafes, restaurants, bars and hotels across the town to sample their festive fare and take a well-earned rest.
