What’s On

animation… light shows… and much more…

Kicking off with the grand opening of Bournemouth’s all-new Christmas Tree Wonderland on 16 November, you can look forward to more than six weeks of events in and around the town.

Full of magic, sparkle and wonder, the Christmas Tree Wonderland trail will come to life with regular light shows, animated characters and live music along the route.

As well as Santa’s Grotto, skating under the stars and an alpine market in the centre of the town, you’ll find switch-ons, parades and markets in our coastal villages. And the celebrations are themed with Westbourne’s Victorian Christmas, Boscombe’s continental flavour and Southbourne’s vintage vibe!

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without family friendly shows and live entertainment. From panto and performances specially designed for tiny tots in mind to church services and carol singing, you’ll be hard pushed not to join in the fun. Oh yes you will!

And don’t forget – our official transport provider, Yellow Buses can help you get around to experience everything the Christmas Tree Wonderland has to offer.

Upside Down House

10 November, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 2 January, 2019 @ 9:00 pm

An extraordinary and exciting new building has arrived in Bournemouth’s buzzy and vibrant Triangle – the Upside Down House. A hybrid of street art and experiential entertainment, this inverted wooden structure is the first of its kind in the UK, providing visitors with a zero-gravity illusion experience in a safe and family friendly environment.

Walk on the ceiling, go downstairs to go up, do handstands on the sofa without taking your feet off the floor and let your imagination run riot. The house is fully furnished, arranged over two storeys and is perfect for quirky photo opportunities in our social media age.

The Upside Down House makes for a perfect pit stop while shopping, on a work break, after a weekend brunch or in between drinks on a night out.

This fascinating new installation is a part of Bournemouth’s Christmas Tree Wonderland trail until 2nd January 2019 but the house will be in situ until the end of June 2019 and will change its colours and decoration from season to season.
